This picture was taken a while ago, but it is still one of my favorites of  Kris and I. I have been thinking of her and when I ran across the picture I scrapped it. The journaling is  memories over the years. It reads:

Summer Days

The long hot summer days are fading fast. Where did they go? This summer has been so jammed pack it almost makes me tired thinking of everything that we did in the last three months.

1- Went camping in the trailer down at Lincoln City

2. Declin's adoption was finalized

3. My oldest friend that has been gone for nine years came back into my life

4. Clark County Fair

5. Tim Mcgraw / Faith Hill Concert

6. 20 Year Class Reunion

7. 38th Birthday

8. Tony working all kinds of crazy hours since this is his busiest time of the year.

9. Errands

10. Dr and Dentist Appointments

It's all of these things and more that make up our life. There were so many big steps taken during this time with Declin's adoption, my friendship with Kristina, celebrating being out of highschool twenty years. I cherish the time that was spent on them and I will look back at this summer with fond memories.

I look forward to the new school year- new beginnings - familiar faces and new memories.

Summer Grad Party

We went to my friend Kristina's Graduation Party. It was held in a park. We had a lot of fun- it was nice to celebrate with Kristina and her family. It has been over thirty years since my family and Kristina's family have gotten together.

I am so glad we are celebrating this achievment with Kristina.

I have to go back to school tomorrow- it is time to set up the classroom and turn in my curriculum for the year.  I am not sure that I am ready to go back- I think because this summer has been so busy I just want to take a breather. Oh well- such is life.

Quiet Week

It has been a quiet week around here. Tony has been out of town since Monday. He is back. This should be the end of the out of town blitzes for a bit.  The kids spent the day with Nana and Papa. They went school shopping and out to lunch. It was a nice break for all of us.

We have one more busy weekend and then it will be time to concentrate on getting in the school mode. Tony has invited my parents and sister and family and his parents and sister over a birthday  party for me on Saturday. I was kind of hoping that we could just celebrate the four of us, but he wanted to do something more- so that is fine. Sunday we are going to a graduation party for my friend Kristina. She graduated from PSU last weekend.

Moments of Old and New Friends

It has been a weekend of  celebration.  We went to the second part of the "20" Year Class Reunion tonight. It was a great time had by all. It was great to see old and new friends. We watched our senior slide show  and learned about the three classmates that we lost. It is sad to think that a couple of them died within four years after graduation. We danced to "80's"Music and laughed about things that we did in high school. It was interesting to see how some classmates had mellowed through the years and were nice and others still acted like they were in highschool- snobby and thinking they were better than others.  I have come to the conclusion that they must not be happy with their lives and they have to act like they did 20 years ago. Anyway...

This is my guy and I wouldn't trade him for anyone in that room tonight. I have the catch of a life time right here.

I love this picture- it is myself, Michelle, Kristi and Chris. We have known eachother since gradeschool. I have known Michelle and Kristi since first grade and Chris since third. This really was the highlight of the reunion.

This is a mixture of old and new friends.

This is one of my best friends. Dianne and I met the first day of school and we have never looked back. We will celebrate twenty four years of friendship this September. The L is for Lincoln not loser!

Here we are with Dianne and Frank. We have a blast together. We can laugh, be serious and just have fun. It doesn't get any better than that.

This is dedicated to my friend Kristina. She is graduating from PSU with a Psychology Degree today.   I am so proud of her.  Here is your moment in time and I know you will make it shine.

Friendship

My friend Kristina came up yesterday and we went shopping, ate and talked. I love getting together with her- we laugh like a couple of hyenias- at times until we have tears running down our faces.  I love those kind of friendships where you have so much history and memories that make you  happy. One that knows where you were and how far you have come.

Old - New- Friends

Friendship is such an important part of life. Where would we be without those people in our life that we call friends- the ones that know our stories,  value us and make us smile when we don't feel like it.

I have life time friends- friends from grade school, highschool, and college. These women mean the world to me and although I do not see them as much as I would like- I know that they are there, I talk to them on the phone, we email eachother- we are there! 

Nine years ago- for reasons that were beyond our control my very best friend disappeared from my life.  In June of this year I found Kristina. I was checking out the website "My Space" and I put her name in the people search section. It brought up  her name- I began to read the blog and found out this girl was getting ready to graduate from PSU and applying to grad school.  She was madly in love and so happy. I was like wow!  I checked out her picture and there was my friend Kristina.  I could not get her out of my mind for days afterwards. I was so excited that I had found her and that she had accomplished so much during this time. I was proud of her. I decided to email her and let her know.  I debated about this, but then I decided well I am going to do it and then if she does not respond- that is ok! 

Long story short- she responded and we have been emailing everyday ever since.  It has been fun getting to know her again and also getting to know the person she has become. She has not only walked back into my life she walked through my door yesterday. It was wonderful to see her and to meet Julie- Kristina's daughter. :)  Thanks Julie for coming and scrapping with me.

We spent the day scrapping and laughing. We revisted old memories that had us laughing so hard. It was so fun remembering things that had long been forgotten.

This is what friendship is about- the memories that can make the distance not so far, the laughter that can make you happy that you have the person in your life.  The conversation that can be shared without saying a word.

I look forward to more times like yesterday with Kristina.  She truly is my lifetime friend!

4th of July and Misc

I hope everyone had a great 4th of  July.  Mine was full of family and catching up with old friends. The kids were able to play with one of their cousins that they have not seen in awhile and the fireworks added color to a great day.
